Andrew Curphey Theatre Company

Hi All,

I hope you are having a wonderful summer and enjoying the sunshine?

I am incredibly pleased to be communicating with our ACTC community with optimism for our return to classes in September. I am sure you are aware that the guidance from the government regarding Covid-19 is constantly changing and updating, we will hopefully have a defined plan ready for the start of September very soon. Due to this I am going to hold off providing full details of our class procedures in this email, but we are currently making positive movements to return in September, and I will keep you updated on the guidelines as we get them.

As a team we have prepared a new evening timetable for the Autumn term that will support the current guidelines and allow for a safe class change over. I previously wrote to Performing Arts parents in February to make everyone aware that our Performing Arts fees would be increasing to £7 per 1.5 hour session. This is now on hold due to our safe timetable rescheduling.

Monday - Warrington

16:45 – 17:45     Drama Class

18:00 – 19:00     Performing Arts Junior

Tuesday - Runcorn

17:00 – 20:00     Theatricality Musical Theatre

Wednesday - Frodsham

16:45 – 17:45     Drama Class

18:00 – 19:00     Performing Arts Junior

19:15 – 20:15     Performing Arts Senior

Thursday - Runcorn

16:45 – 17:45     Drama Class

18:00 – 19:00     Performing Arts Junior

Friday - Widnes

16:45 – 17:45     Drama Class

18:00 – 19:00     Performing Arts Junior

19:15 – 20:15     Performing Arts Senior

As Performing Arts classes are now reduced to an hour, we are no longer planning to increase fees. From September all Theatre Company classes (Drama, Performing Arts and Theatricality) will cost £6 per hour (£5 plus VAT). The change in class time will also mean that we will not have any snack breaks during PA and Drama classes. Bottled water can be brought to all classes, but we ask that no food is brought or consumed.

This is an unprecedented time for all, but I am proud of the new timetable and feel it will help us to support our new Covid-19 secure environment. ACTC has been closed since March and I am determined to get our doors open safely this September. As the autumn term progresses, we will be able to make decisions and judgements ready for the following spring term timetable.

As we are now excitedly planning to return, I need to be aware of who is intending to join us and who would like to attend additional classes. Confirmation of this is required so we can fully prepare. Please complete the form below and confirm which location and class(es) that you wish to continue with and also any additional classes that you’d like to add. Payment is not required at this stage, just confirmation. If we have not heard from you by Wednesday 19th August, we will presume you no longer require your space at ACTC, but it would be lovely if you could email us if you no longer require a place. Once we have received your confirmation, we will email you later in the month with full return information. Once again it is essential that we have confirmation as we can’t accept walk ins/drop ins to class. All classes will be planned and structured based on numbers and participants. We have a waiting list of children wishing to join ACTC, but our current students have priority for a place in class. This is why we are getting in touch now and asking for confirmation by the deadline provided.

Finally, I want you to be aware that I will continue to work with all our venues to ensure we always follow government guidance. It is my priority that students and staff can enjoy ACTC in a safe and fun environment.

We can’t wait to get back, it’s all small steps but hopefully ACTC will be able to bring the fun, smiles and excellent skill-based learning it is renowned for when we return in September.

Bring on our 12th year!!

Many thanks - Andrew
